GLORIA B. [NO AUDIO] Age 14 [NO AUDIO] Cathy Y. Child Welfare Specialist Cathy Y.: Gloria came into foster care in 2013. She is a very sweet natured, very tender girl. Gloria loves to swim. She loves having fun. She loves to engage people. She likes a lot of one on one attention and really seems to thrive off of it. Gloria has got several diagnoses. The major one that she's dealing with is her autism. She also has cerebral palsy and she has deafness and she has some issues with her optical nerves so she has some vision problems as well. Gloria, like all children, she wants to be loved and she's just a very sensitive child. She's very sweet. She deserves that chance. Gloria will thrive in, and it would be a best case scenario, if she was perhaps the only child in the home. She will need a family who will be able to respond to her and take care of her medical needs. She will have them. That's not a secret. She does have services, though, in place. She is involved, she has a DDS case, which is a disability case. DHS will help in that angle. She'll also ... I believe we've made application for SSI. I don't know where that's at right now. I think aside from her having, and being an only child, I think the best thing would be someone who could see her potential. If you think back to stories like Hellen Keller, Hellen had all these disabilities and someone saw the potential in her and they let it build on that. I just think she needs someone that can see that she has possibility. What we need is a family that can sign or is willing to learn for Gloria because she is deaf. She will require that in order to communicate. I think Gloria would bring a great deal of joy to a family. She's very fun loving. She likes to dance. She's very engaging. I think that she would just bring a completion to a family. They'd have to be the right family for sure. It could not ... They would have to be a special family. She needs boundaries and she would do well with them. I think that she would just bring joy. I think that she would bring a great deal of it. [NO AUDIO] For more information about adopting Gloria B.
