Oracle – Taking Advantage of Sample Reports Hello. My name is Dan. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create an analysis using a sample report from Customer Connect. You'll need to go to the Customer Connect website and log in. You can find the site at http://ora-fusion-apps.custhelp.com. You'll need to register if you don't already have an account. I've just logged into Customer Connect. Now I'll find the sample report to use. I'll search for sample reports that I can use. [No Audio: User enters “sample reports” into the search bar, and clicks Go] One of the many sample reports that are available already on Customer Connect may meet my needs. In addition to finding individual reports, a consolidated list is published every two to three months. When I find a sample report that interests me, I can see all the details of the report. I can also view the report to make sure that it's the one I want. In order to use this OTBI sample report, I'll need to download it. The download link is located below the screenshot of the report. I'm downloading this OTBI sample report. [No Audio: User clicks the “Performance Rating Distribution Sample XML.doc link] Here I'm opening the report in Word and copying the contents to the clipboard. Now that I have my sample code, I need to go to Business Intelligence in the application. [No Audio: User selects Tools, then Reports and Analytics, then clicks the New Analysis button] I'm going to create a new analysis where I'll paste the code. I need to select my subject area where I'll be placing this report. For subject area, I'll choose human resources workforce performance rating distribution. You can choose any subject area ending with real time. In the advanced tab, I'll need to replace all existing content with the analysis code that I copied earlier. Make sure that you delete the existing code before pasting the new code. I'll use "CTRL-A" to select all existing code and click "Delete" to remove it. Then I'll use "CTRL-V" to paste the new content. I'll need to apply the XML. [No Audio: User clicks the Apply XML button] After applying the change, wait for the application to respond. Now I can save my analysis to "My Folders" or to the "Shared Folders" "Custom Folder". If you place the analysis anywhere else, it will be lost in the next upgrade. I'll enter the title of the analysis. The report is now ready to be used. I can now view it from my "Shared Folder". This concludes taking advantage of sample reports. Thank you.
