Governor Fallin: I’m Governor Mary Fallin and today I come asking you for your help.  Over 10,000 children are in state care, through no fault of their own.  Each of those children deserves a loving supportive home.  Unfortunately, we currently have a shortage of foster and adoptive families.  I believe welcoming a child into your home is one of the greatest callings on this earth.  If you are a foster or adoptive family, especially one who is providing a home for siblings who might have been separated, or caring for a child with special needs, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  However, we need more of you.  I’m asking individuals, churches, tribes, state agencies, and organizations to help us usher in a new day in our state.  One where no child is waiting on a family, but rather a long line of families are waiting to take care of our children.  Nothing is more rewarding or more important than giving a child a home.
