ROBERT C. Jamie W.: Robert has been in custody for about five plus years. He is a caring young man. He loves people. He strives to please anybody who he cares for. And once he kind of bonds to you he is very loyal, very caring, and very respectful. Robert: My name is RC. I am fifteen years old. And I have been in DHS custody for five years. I would like to be adopted and I would like to be out in the country where I can ride four-wheelers and stuff. Jamie W.: He’s into fishing, hunting, and stuff like that. So a family that has those common interests. He really needs a father figure to help him mature into a strong young man. Robert: My favorite thing to do is play Grand Theft Auto video game and go hunting. I’m funny, I’m helpful, I’m nice. Jamie W.: What families need to know about Robert is that it will take some time for him to… for his walls to come down and actually bond to a family. Just be patient with him, and know that little steps will help break that wall down. Robert: Family is important because I just have more freedom. More privileges, like more items to do. More trust. A room. A house. Love. Jamie W.: I think its important for Robert right now to be adopted because he’s becoming a young man. So he’s going to need a family that’s going to guide him and kind of help him transition into adulthood, help him figure out who he is and what he wants to do with his life. Robert: It’s important for me to get a family so that way I can show them that I can work, that I am helpful and I can be trusted. Jamie W.: Robert can bring a lot of things to a adoptive family. He is witty. His humor is kind of subtle sometimes and then sometimes you’re like “wow, that came from a fifteen year old.” So, I think just joy, laughter, and just comfort. I would say to any family that is interested in Robert, is to just take your time with him, be honest and open with him. He’s a wonderful kid who just needs somebody that’s going to take that time and to show him things that he hasn’t had the opportunity to be shown.
